FAQ
Live Call Transfer FAQ
What is live call transfer?
Live call transfer lets you move a call you’re on to another destination in your Talkroute phone system, like a coworker, an extension, a department, another office’s number, a cell phone, or a voice mailbox.
How do I transfer a call?
While on a live Talkroute call, press ## (pound, pound). You’ll hear a prompt that the transfer is active. When you hear a dial tone, enter the 4-digit transfer code for the destination. When you hear “transfer complete, you may hang up,” hang up to finish, or stay on the line to speak with the receiving party first.
What’s the difference between a blind and an attended transfer?
In a blind transfer, you hang up right after entering the code, and the caller is connected to the destination. In an attended transfer, you stay on the line to speak with the receiving party first, then hang up to complete the transfer.
Where can I transfer calls to?
Any user, forwarding phone number, Talkroute phone number, menu option, extension, or voice mailbox on your account. When you transfer to a user, the call rings them in the Talkroute desktop and mobile apps.

No. Transfers work from any phone with a keypad, including a cell phone or landline answering a forwarded call. You can also transfer from the keypad in the Talkroute apps.
Where do I find my transfer codes?
In the Talkroute desktop app or at my.talkroute.com, open Settings & Preferences and choose Transfer Codes. You’ll see a code for every user, menu option, phone number, forwarding phone, extension, and voice mailbox. Filter by type or print the list.
Can I cancel a transfer?
